I was asked to create another illustration for the non-profit art blog, RidingUpFront.org, which features stories gleaned from immigrant/refugee ride share drivers. This particular story was told by a driver who had lost everything he'd been building for 10 years in Colorado, when he was suddenly deported. This illustration is featured as the main image, and I wanted Miguel's arc represented in it with the deportation being the seminal event that split his life into a distict "before" and "after." He had a good job, had fallen in love, and even bought a house. All that he lost when he was deported, but he managed to start a new life in Mexico eventually.
