Some fun stuff from my sketchbooks in the earlier years!
2013. Humor is the driving force behind 99% of the things I do.
2013. Learning to draw. I chose this pic because I liked the challenge presented by the face angle, and the texture in the cloth. Didn't watch much of FNL, but I am a fan of Taylor Kitsch's hotness.
2013. This sketch was a gift I presented to Neil Gaiman when he was in Portland for a reading/book signing event. I reread The Graveyard Book when working through my grief over the death of a most beloved cat. Neil had also lost his beloved dog recently, so I put both our pets in the drawing. It ended up working well with the general concept of the composition.
Neil was such a gracious host- he signed books for 5 hours in the sweltering summer heat. All while taking the care to connect with each and every person who waited in line. Truly an inspirational human being.
2013. A gift for a friend whose favorite color is orange (thus the robe color.)
2016. This quick sketchbook illustration was inspired by Lindsay Faye's novel Jane Steele. Inspired by (and occurring contemporaneously alongside) Jane Eyre, Faye's plucky heroine tickled me to no end.
